Hyundai is refining an SUV that already earned the 2026 model an IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK+. The 2027 Hyundai IONIQ 9 adds:
- New Calligraphy Black Ink trim: The new flagship replaces the Calligraphy Design model.
- Heated third-row seats: Coming to Calligraphy and Black Ink. Back-row passengers stay warm on January mornings.
- Virtual Gear Shift: Added to Calligraphy and Black Ink for a more engaging drive.
- Tailgate emergency lamp: Now standard on every trim.
Everything families already love carries over, from the 110.3 kWh battery to 800-volt fast charging.

The 2027 IONIQ 9 Black Ink is the darkest, most premium IONIQ 9 yet.
- Abyss Black Pearl paint with a black chrome front skid plate and rear garnish.
- Gloss black roof rails, window moldings and front Hyundai emblem.
- Exclusive 21-inch black Turbine Design wheels.
- Black cabin trim, a black steering wheel and an eco-suede headliner made from corn-based fibers.
- Six seats, with power-reclining, ventilated Relaxation Seats in the first and second rows.
- 422 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque from dual-motor AWD.
