There are two trim levels available with the 2023 Hyundai NEXO. You can choose either a Blue or Limited trim level.

Exterior & Colors

The 2023 Hyundai NEXO measures 184″ L x 73″ W x 64-65″ H. You can outfit the new NEXO with 17" or 19" wheels. Plus, both trims are available in these four exterior color options.

Interior Design & Seating

The 2023 Hyundai NEXO is a crossover that fits five adults comfortably. You also get about 30 cubic feet of cargo room in the rear or 57 cubic feet with the back row down, which is comparable to the Hyundai Tucson. Owners also have the option of a blue interior color with the Blue trim or gray with the Limited models. 

Engine

The 2023 Hyundai NEXO includes a 40-kWh battery pack and 95-kW fuel-cell stack combined with an electric motor to create 161 horsepower. The single-speed gearbox drives the front wheels. There may be an all-wheel drive option offered in the future, but it's not available for this model year.

Battery & Range

The 2023 Hyundai NEXO Blue has a maximum driving range of 380 miles. The Limited does slightly worse at 354 miles because of the added equipment, larger 19" wheels, and heavier weight. Still, either option makes for a great commuter and urban mover.

Performance & MPG

The EPA has given different MPGe ratings on the two 2023 Hyundai NEXO trim levels. Blue models have earned 61 MPGe combined (65/58 MPGe city/highway). However, the NEXO Limited gets a rating of 57 MPGe (59/44 MPGe). Refueling only takes five minutes at a hydrogen station. Plus, the first three years come with complimentary hydrogen fuel (worth up to $13,000). 

Infotainment

The 2023 Hyundai NEXO comes standard with a 12.3" touch screen. It also includes Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, the Blue Link app, two USB ports, and wireless device charging. The Blue Link service is complimentary for three years, and it includes a hydrogen-fuel station locator, along with remote engine starting.

The 2023 Hyundai NEXO is a modern marvel fuel of innovative technology that extends to the safety systems. Every model comes equipped with the technology you desire, such as adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, and lane-keeping assist. Plus, you can customize it in any number of ways to ensure it fits your needs.

Car and Driver performed some testing of the 2023 Hyundai NEXO. It hit 60 mph in just 8.4 seconds, which is faster than the Mirai. This acceleration shows that the new NEXO can also compete with standard gas-powered crossovers. 

Handling

The 2023 Hyundai NEXO has a specially-tuned electric-assisted steering system that makes it a thrill to drive. It's also lightweight, allowing for complete maneuverability. Further testing from Car and Driver shows that the NEXO can stop from 70 mph in just 169 feet. That is also a better time than the Mirai.

Ratings & Reviews

The 2023 Hyundai NEXO doesn't have any safety ratings from the IIHS or NHTSA yet. However, Car and Driver says, "Instead of needing to be plugged in like most EVs, the Nexo-like its nearest rival, the Toyota Mirai-powers its electric motors using hydrogen, with its tanks taking around just five minutes to top off. This provides up to 380 miles of emissions-free driving between refills, and those fueling stops are far quicker than recharging an EV."
